Dr. Jeff Gardner graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1992. He is involved in many professional organizations including The South Carolina Dental Association, The Seattle Study Club, The Academy of General Dentistry, and is a past president of The Coastal District Dental Society.

Dr. Gardner is a member of the leadership council of The South Carolina Donated Dental Services. He received his Mastership in The Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) in 2015. This award requires the completion of 1100 hours of approved continuing education courses. At least 400 of the hours require “hands-on” coursework. Only 2% of dentists in the United States have achieved this high honor.

Dr. Detwiler grew up in Buffalo, NY and attended college at The Pennsylvania State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Minor in Biology. She then returned to her hometown for dental school, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduation, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Throughout the residency program, Dr. Detwiler learned advanced techniques in general dentistry, including implant restorations, full mouth rehabilitation, and cosmetic dental procedures. She enjoys helping her patients achieve the smile they deserve!

Dr. Detwiler is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. When not in the office, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach, and trying out new restaurants in Charleston!

Elizabeth is from Columbia, S.C. She has lived in Charleston since 1991. Liz graduated from the College of Charleston in 1995. She received an Associate Health degree from Trident Technical College in 2001. Liz has been a hygienist with the practice since 2010. She enjoys exercising, boating, and spending time with her husband and son.

Anna was born as a triplet and raised in Charleston, SC.  She joined the team at Smiling Oak Dentistry in 2014 as a dental assistant and then went on to obtain her dental hygiene license at Trident Technical College.

When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend Ryan and their two dogs, Bodie and Levi.

Katelyn was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina. She graduated from Trident Technical College as a Certified Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. She provides exceptional care to each and every patient while assisting alongside Dr. Gardner. She enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time with her boyfriend Brian and their son Brantley.

Bridgette was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from Trident Technical College as a Certified Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. As a dental assistant for Dr. Gardner and Dr. Harbin, Bridgette ensures optimal comfort and communication with all patients. Bridgette is the middle sister of three girls. During her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, going out with family & friends, and most of all spending time with her niece Kalanie.

Natali was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She has lived in the Charleston area for more than 20 years. She is married to Chad and they have 8-year-old twin boys – Harrison and Hudson. They enjoy traveling, boating, and Clemson sports. Natali went to Trident Technical School for Dental Assisting and worked as a Certified Dental Assistant for 15 years. Now you can find her at the front desk helping patients with scheduling appointments, accounts receivable, treatment plans, and filing insurance.

Lisette grew up on Long Island, New York. She moved to Charleston, South Carolina in the Summer of 2004 with her husband Mike. They have two sons and a daughter. During the week you can find her at the front desk answering calls, scheduling appointments, treatment plans, working on your insurance needs, and accounts receivable. She enjoys playing with her USTA  tennis teams, biking, walking, and just spending time with the family.
